Lau Baldo is a Brazilian, self-taught, transmasculine photographer whose practice explores the poetics of portraiture through a documentary approach rooted in emotional connection. Working across fashion, cinema and LGBTQIAP+ culture, he uses photography to celebrate the diversity of bodies and identities that challenge social norms.
His practice spans the streets, studios and film sets, where he works as a unit stills and behind-the-scenes photographer, capturing the unseen narratives that unfold behind the camera. Shaped by encounters and relationships in public spaces, Lau brings this urban sensibility to his commercial collaborations, approaching advertising and audiovisual production as spaces for affirmation, belonging and freedom.
